Shiba Quest
Shiba Quest! is a cute and vibrant action 3D platformer adventure where you play as Hiro the Shiba!
Origin Story
For the Godot Wild Jam #33 I was finishing jams and getting back into creating.
I wanted to create something that would showcase my skills but also the power of the Godot Engine.

So, with a week on the clock I took inspiration from Doge Coin and the persistence of their fanbase. I grinded out a 3D character controller and found a free Shiba asset.
I made it his bones day with a rig in Blender.
Made some coffee, and sat down to create!

Level Design
Level design is not my strongest skill. So, I did my research and found videos on level design philosophy from creators like Shigeru Miyamoto who has a beautiful level design process for Mario.

With this I made each level with its own themed area in the world. Each level would feature 3 sections with increasingly difficult challenges.

While not very polished I learned a lot while making them.
Work! Work! Work!
I had 7 days to make the game, which I worked 5 of at my day job for 8 hour shifts. Then I had to sleep at least 6 hours a day. On top of other daily life routines, this left not a whole lot of time.

But! I was determined to finish this project. Every moment I had awake and not at my day job was spent creating this game.

The biggest challenges was the player controller and getting everything to work with it. Then there was animation, the player model I rigged and animated in Blender wasn't working for Godot. After 10 hours of hitting my head off my keyboard and eventually got my half-baked animations to work!

I spent a lot of the time trying to figure out all the levels and how to make them interesting. This was by far the hardest thing for me but once I figured the levels out; I loved them!
